All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This agreement outlines the terms, conditions, insurance coverage, applicable charges, and your responsibilities for the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle in Bristol requires:

- Reservations can be made on our website, via phone, or directly at our Bristol office. A deposit may be required to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are generally due upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, with transactions processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection in Bristol, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by both parties. The vehicle should be returned in the same condition as when it was collected, with allowances for normal wear and tear. Optional insurance enhancements may be available to lower your financial liability. It is advisable to examine these options closely. You remain liable for damage or loss up to the insurance excess, except when additional insurance applies. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Keep in mind that late cancellations or failure to show may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited uses of the rental vehicle:
- Vehicles may not be used for any unlawful activities. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or engaging in any dangerous behavior. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting or allowing unauthorized individuals to drive is not permitted. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Additionally, vehicles should not be used beyond their intended purpose, such as exceeding passenger or weight limits, or driving outside designated geographical areas without prior consent.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Car Hire Bristol is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, linked to your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not surpass the total amount paid for rentals in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to cases of negligence leading to death or personal injury, or to instances of fraud.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled exclusively by the courts in this jurisdiction.
